Mark 2 coaches first introduced in the mid 1960s as a development of the previous Mark 1 BR Standard coach and were used throughout all regions on loco hauled trains. Some remain in use on the mainline currently in privately owned excursion trains and are the main stay of most private preserved railways.
Later, coaches allocated for the longer distance services received the name "InterCity" on the sides as the first stage towards sectorisation.
Suitable for curves of 2nd Radius (438mm) or greater
