The track layout included in this set can be extended further by the purchase of Hornby's own series of Track Extension Packs. The following may be used in sequence :
R8223: Track Extension Pack C
With Track Extension Pack C, a double track oval is provided. If it is required to operate more than one train at the same time, an additional transformer (C990), controller (R965) and power connecting clip (R602) will be required.
Alternatively, if only one train is to be used, then additional link wires with a pair of connecting clips (R8201) will be required.
Further track extension can be provided by adding
R8224: Track Extension Pack D, then
R8225: Track Extension Pack E, then
R8226: Track Extension Pack F
PLEASE CHECK THE CATALOGUE NUMBER OF YOUR SET IS R1072 AND ENSURE YOU USE THE CORRECT Rxxx SERIES NUMBERS QUOTED ABOVE WHEN ORDERING ADDITIONAL TRACK SETS. Flying Scotsman Set R1039 uses a different Trackmat and different Track Extension Packs to those given here.
The layout may also be extended to the customer's own design if the Track Mat is not used.

The most famous locomotive and train in the World features in this high range Hornby train set. The striking LNER apple green liveried Class A1 “Flying Scotsman” helps to recreate those wonderful days of train travel in the 1930s when the two great rivals, London North Eastern Railway and the London, Midland and Scottish Railway vied for the lucrative passenger traffic between London and Scotland. Included with this set is the Hornby TrakMat which accommodates with ease the large oval of track and two sidings. The larger of the sidings which sits inside the oval can comfortably handle the full train when operations have finished for the day.
Additional Hornby Track and Accessory Packs will complete the main infrastructure of the TrakMat leaving any additional details for the operator to complete.
