SUCCESSFUL ANNIVERSARY DAY ENJOYED BY ALL
Thank you to all those who were able to come a particiate in our celebrations on Saturday 19th July to mark our 50 years of trading.
Hopefully many of you managed to pick up some of the special one day bargains, and also renew some friendships and enjoy the festive flavour.
It was delightful to be able to welcome former owner Betty Colby who came along to cut a magnificient cake superbly made by for us by Clair Sherriff - the design representing the shop front was widely admired by all and had to be seen to be believed!  And it tasted great as well.

Our thanks must also go to Alan Goodwillie from Airfix for his patience in helping the youngsters to make a kit to take away with them - all free of charge (many thanks to Hornby and Airfix).  Also to John Hills for bringing along his demonstration layout for the narrow gauge MiniTrains products and to  Kevin Player who was demonstrating the scenic products from Noch, electrical accessories from Trian Tech and digital model railway equipment.  These were accommodatated in our overflow accommodation for which thanks to May.
Also thanks to our own Chris Peters for demonstrating the Roco Z21 digital control system in our own shop.
It was not only our anniversary, but the parade of shops is also 50 years old and the ladies hairdressers and butchers joined in the celebrations, with the latter providing some excellent home made burgers and sausages.
For those of you not able to come along on the day - do come and visit us to see our wide selection of stock, and if you did come and would like more time to browse in comfort, we hope to see you again in the near future. Thanks to all those who donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust - a total of almost £50 was raised, whist the winner of the free drawer (£25 voucher) was Mr Kersey of Brighton with Mr Canneaux winning second prize (£10 voucher).
Finally a big thank you from Brian and Angie to all members of our team who helped out on the day and in the preparations leading upto the event.
